Aaah, it feels like only yesterday the summer season was over and I was writing my final impressions. (You suck, Gangsta.).
They grow up so fast.
But let’s see what happened with the series I picked up this fall.
1. Noragami Aragoto
Man, I’m so happy I listened to the wise voice of the population and watched the first season of Noragami because, well, it’s so nice. I really enjoyed the second season too. In fact, it gets the first spot this fall. It’s just well done, funny, has cool characters, awesome story, great animation, a cool ending so on and so forth. Really excited for the third season.
2. One Punch Man
Look, we all know this was good. You’re allowed to say it was bad only if you try my guide on how to be an anime snob. You can also find a full review here. There’s not much to be said. I enjoyed the fuck out of it.
3. Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider
I had high expectations from it. I really did. I thought I would love the artwork because the trailer looked so cool. It wasn’t. It had potential indeed. But it turned out to be sloppy and annoying. I told you before how much I want my anime to have some realistic parts in it. Even if it’s about magical girls, idk. But no.
Two people were killed in this building and we believe the murderer is still here. Let’s all calmly go to sleep.
This chick killed her parents and it’s obvious that she is mental. We should just comply to her wishes and provide everything she wants because she’s a genius.
Oh, okay. This super smart, worldwide known murderer girl was killed. We should keep it a secret because we want some munny.
Besides, it seemed like they just took the easy way out for anything they had to explain. It was also completely rushed. And they had some 3D scenes that looked as if somebody took a shit and put it on the screen. Just no.
4. Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru
I only watched a couple of episodes and decided I have better things to do instead of just being annoyed by this Sakurako bitch. The AniChart summary was a lie. But I might just pick this up at some point in life because I enjoy mistery shows. I mean, come on, I sat through The Perfect Insider. This can’t be worse, right?
5. Young Black Jack
“You have so many scars!” – I think we’ve all seen enough porn as to know where this is going.
Anyhow, I dropped this after two episodes or so. It bored me. Did not float my boat. Or whatever English people say. It seemed like a miracle show. Who the fuck lets a med student perform dangerous surgery because he believes he can make it? Go fuck yourself, bishounen Black Jack.
As for the shorts:
Dropped Kowabon because it sucked and it was boring and annoying and I hated their new, innovative rotoscope animation technique. I guess I still have to wait for a decent horror anime series.
Completed Komori-san wa Kotowarenai! It was boring. I mean, I totally
enjoyed the manga, but it was pointless to animate this. Not much to be seen in 2 minutes of animation. There are cool short series like I can’t understand what my husband is saying, but Komori-san just didn’t make it on the list. I loved the artwork, tho’. The characters were super cute and it reminded me of Lucky Star a bit.
All in all, I’m satisfied with the fall season. It has provided two great shows and enough time to watch some older great shows. Way to go, Fall 2015. You’ve been good.
